CommUniversity is an annual event that features fun, excitement, new people and places. In four Sunday afternoons each February, CommUniversity guides you through subjects of interest that range from the arts to philosophy to personal development. Since 1979, thousands of Quad Citians have participated in this great community event. In many cases, groups of friends or entire families will attend.
Share the fun as you explore new ideas and opportunities in a friendly learning atmosphere. You choose what interests you for only $20 for the four Sunday afternoons. Attendees get new learning experiences in a casual, friendly environment. There are no exams or papers. You decide how much you want to do.

Every year in February, CommUniversity students and instructors gather for four enjoyable Sunday afternoons to learn from each other and to delight in the breadth and depth of ideas that can make even a Midwestern winter bright.
CommUniversity was founded in 1979 and incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1980. Modeled on successful programs in Minnesota and North Dakota, CommUniversity was developed to provide the Quad Cities community with the occasion to learn and grow. The first program of courses offered in 1980 attracted 350 participants. By 1999, this number had grown to 470 participants in 30 classes.
Classes are taught by local experts, including the faculty of colleges and universities, staff from museums and libraries, representatives of religious groups, and private citizens. The goal is to provide a quality learning experience at an affordable cost.
CommUniversity is supported in part by grants. The most important support, however, is provided by the Quad Citians who take courses. CommUniversity thanks each participant who has ever taken or taught a course, served on the CommUniversity board, given a keynote speech, or helped CommUniversity in any way.
